Beginner’s Jump Guide

  • What’s the best place to skydive in South Australia?

People have jumped in many locations in South Australia throughout the years. Currently, the two best locations are McLaren Vale Skydive the Vines and Lower Light Adelaide Skydiving Centre.

    McLaren Vale Skydive the Vines

If you're after a premium tandem skydiving experience with first-class views, then Skydive The Vines is the place for you. Meet the team at Richard Hamilton Wines (Leconfield Winery) in McLaren Vale, where your friends and family can enjoy a selection of cheese and wine at the tasting centre.

For your skydiving experience, you will receive a luxurious 10-minute limousine ride to Aldinga Airport. From there, you will fly up over the South Coast, experiencing spectacular views from the Adelaide CBD to Kangaroo Island, Goolwa, and Lake Alexandrina.

Your instructor will complete the final checks before exiting the plane above South Australia's famous wine region. You will freefall at 220kmph before opening the parachute, where you will then have the chance to steer the parachute over the vineyards.

Your instructor will land you on the ground back at Richard Hamilton Wines (Leconfield Winery) in front of your family and friends. Then, on to the winery to join your friends and family for some well-deserved wine!

Adelaide Skydiving Centre at Lower Light

If you want to experience the excitement and culture of skydiving, then Adelaide Skydiving Centre at Lower Light is the drop zone for you.

You can choose between a Tandem Skydive or a Solo Skydive course. Lots of experienced skydivers jump there every day. You will see people train for competitions in every discipline, including wingsuiting, big formations, canopy piloting, and many more.

The atmosphere is what makes Lower Light so special.

The South Australian Sports Parachute Club has owned the facilities for over 60 years, making it Australia's second-oldest drop zone. It's estimated that over 700,000 jumps have been completed during that time. There is a bar for you to relax at and plenty of space for everyone to watch the excitement that goes on around the drop zone.

You will experience views of the Adelaide CBD, Semaphore Beach, York Peninsula, and the Barossa Valley on the way to height.

You will likely witness a group of fun jumpers leaving the plane before you!
